USA POWER TUNED WOOFERS
1500 ESP Series
The suspension in a subwoofer takes real abuse, so the 1500 Series uses track proven spider and surround materials from the 35/9500 Series. The best coil wire, glues and assembly methods are used in construction symbolizing DD’s dedication to long term performance and value.
2500 Series
The 2500 series is a favorite among enclosure builders and installers for its performance and versatility. It’s enjoyed daily by drivers who love their music and have a tendency to get over enthusiastic with the bass knob. It’s also a testament to DD AUDIO’s quest for performance, devotion to USA Made build quality, and commitment to the ever evolving audio engineering process that comes with the modernization of materials and tooling.
9500 ESP Series
Often imitated but never duplicated, the 9500 has long been a staple of our subwoofer line and has been featured in many of the world’s loudest systems. These subs are capable of easily handling 1000-2000 watts of continuous power and bursts as high as 8000 watts. Just as you would expect these bad boys are equipped with all sorts of awesome stuff such as EROM and V-ROM surrounds, Free Flow motor cooling, double slit formers, eight layer aluminum voice coils, 28mm magnetic gaps, cast aluminum frames, rigid non-pressed cones, and our multi-layer spider system.9900 ESP Series
Originally coined The Beast, the 9900s first appeared on the market in the early 2000s. It took a brief hiatus, but now it’s back and more beastly than ever. The latest iteration was developed in response to the recent explosion in ultra-low-frequency music. These subwoofers were designed to provide long-term power handling, with accuracy, and high excursion capabilities. It’s been optimized for a 1500 – 2500 watt power band with the ability able to handle bursts of up to 10,000 watts. One look at the 9900 motor and you see why we call it the beast. It boasts 3 inches of magnet cross-section, over a 10″ OD, and weighs in at 70 pounds (motor only). The traditionally tight DD magnet gap drives a 4″ flat wound aluminum voice coil to a peak excursion in excess of 3 inches while keeping enough turns in the gap to maintain power and control.
Z3 ESP Series
There have been a couple of different iterations of the Z4 over the years, and due to the limited number of pieces that have been produced it has gained almost mythical status in the subwoofer world. In its current form, the Z4 is an 18 lens grade 52 neodymium open motor design. By increasing the surface area of the voice coil, the size of the magnetic gap, and its heat dissipating abilities, the Z4 is able to be driven just as hard as the Z3, but with increased long-term high power handling.
